I am using the daily Bible reading schedule from “The Bible.net” for my daily Bible reading.

Today, I am reading and commenting on Psalms 119.

    Writing on this psalm is challenging, the psalmist already does such a great job of making his point. This entire psalm does a wonderful job of calling on us to obey God’s commands. In order to obey God’s commands we first need to know what they are. Therefore, if we wish to obey God’s commands we must ask Him to teach them to us. However, it is not enough to know God’s commands, we must also understand them. In order to understand God’s commands we must study them and meditate on them. Diligent study of God’s law will bring us knowledge and good judgment. His commands will provide us with light to guide our feet. Even the simple minded can understand what God desires. What a joy, we do not need to rely on experts to know what God desires of us. If anyone tells you that you need them to understand what God wants of you, send them on their way.
